DUE 5/6/11

Animal project
1. Choose an animal.
2. Find a picture of the both parents and babies.
3. Where is the animal found (country) and explain its habitat.
4. Discuss the animal's diet. (tell what it eats)
5. How does the animal reproduce(asexual, sexual, how long it takes the baby to develop, and is the baby carried/ where are the eggs laid)
6. Is your Animal endangered explain why or not (tell why the animal is endangered). If so explain what is being done to save the animal.

Homework 3-6 is on the homework page all are due on Friday 4/29/11

The weather project is due on 4/30/11 for all classes.

It must be in a form of technology using photoshop, moviemaker, or powerpoint.

Each student must do his/her part.

1. The Student must explain the type of storm they have chosen. Tell what it is by definition and what you may see happen during the storm like fast winds or heavy rains.

2. The student must explain the weather conditions/guide lines that this storm will occur under like wind speeds must be between 9 mph and 10 mph.

3. The student must create/find and explain what a weather map would look like during this storm showing air pressures, fronts, temperatures, wind speeds, precipitation, and Sky appearance.

4. The student must identify the areas most likely to have this type of storm in the united states and explain why. (If doesn't occur in the United States then identify another region)

5. The student must report the possible damage that this type of storm can cause to an area like up roots trees or turning over cars.

Everything must be saved on your wikispace page by cutting and pasting. If there is nothing on your page you did not do the work.

Energy Report Write a paragraph for each of the following

I . Introduction

Must include the following information what is energy? why do we need it? Where does it come from?

II. Energy Types (potential and kinetic)

Must include the following information What are the two types of energy? Define each type, tell how they are used and give examples.

III. Energy forms and transformations

Must include ALL energy forms like chemical energy, nuclear energy, electromagnetic energy. Explain what they are and how they are used. Also explain each form they can changed into. Give examples

IV. Explain energy conservation

Must include the Law of energy conservation and explain why we need to save energy. Give examples

V. The kinds of energy we use to live

Must include Fossil fuels, Nuclear energy, and Hydroelectric energy. Tell what they are, how it is used, where it comes from, and the advantages and disadvantages for each one.

VI. Conclusion

Give your opinion of why you think energy is important and tell what you can do to help with energy.

Welcome to your new wiki page class 612

Energy Project Ms. Jones

Due Date 10/13/10
  1. Choose four items in your home that uses energy. Find pictures or draw pictures and glue them to your posture board.
  2. Write the name of the item you chose at the top of one index card. (one card for each item please)
  3. Explain what the main purpose of each item is.
  4. For each item you must identify the main source of energy the item uses. (label it main source)
  5. Once you have identified the main source of energy, identify all the other forms of energy involved in making the item work. (label it other forms of energy necessary to work)
  6. Now placed the energy forms in order of the energy transformations from start to finish. Please include the main source of energy and all other forms of energy.

  1. EXAMPLE:
    Stove
Main source of energy - Chemical energy (gas)
Other forms of energy - mechanical energy , electormagnetic energy, thermal energy
    Order of Transformations - Chemical energy-electromagnetic energy-mechanical energy-thermal energy.
